Shared Ownership Help

Options
Hi,

Is it possible to get a shared ownership mortgage if you already have a mortgage on a property?

The situation I am in is I have a mortgage in my name which the property is reneted out, I make no money on the rented accomodation. I have since got married and myself and my wife would like to buy a house the only option at the moment is for shared ownership as we are currently in rented accomodation ourselves.

Could we get a shared ownership mortgage as we do not have a property to sell?

Thanks for your help

J

If you own a property already you will be excluded from most shared equity schemes, such as the government's Homebuy Direct.

Why not sell the property you are renting out?
