I have, after much dithering, bought a Remoska,a very helpful lady at Lakeland taliked me through it but 2 things I forgot to ask
1:Can I cook long grain rice and 2: boil potatoes in it
These may seem like silly questions to experienced Remoska users but I am only a novice.

yes to the rice - measure your rice and add twice as much boiling water - takes around 18-25 mins in my regular sized remoska, depending on quantity0

I have got rice cooking in mine as I type - spose it takes about 25 mins but I sometimes turn if off 5 mins before and it carries on cooking. Makes better rice for me than cooking on the hob.
Cant answer about the potatoes Im afraid.0 -
I've never done spuds in mine but I'm sure you could. Though if you think of it as a tiny oven it might help to think what you can and can't do in it. Just plain boiled spuds would be easier and quicker on a hob I think, but recipes where you do - say - new ones (like roasties, with a bit of fat and herbs if you like) would be fine, and ROASTIES of course (look on the older remoska threads as there is lots of advice on there for getting them all crisp and lovely. And you can do that layered thing with onions and cream or milk (Lyonnaise ?) in the remoska - yum. And, of course it's the most economical way to do baked ones (again, see the other thread) . I hope you are enjoying it, I LOVE mine and hardly ever use my big oven any more. keep asking questions if you get stuck, there are a lot of us out here who love our remoskas and use them all the time (and a few also who hate them, can't think why !)
