why is it always the smallest and the ugliest ones that are always looking for trouble
Please don't drag the board down to this Chucky. You have a lot to offer us (I know that because you have told me), and it would be a shame if a poster of your calibre were to be ppr'd. Let's just try to get along nicely.

Name calling is not really very grown up is it?

I'll get back to you with a name when I find it so you can check it out. In fact, ask Lostinrates if she's finished with it and she can send it to you!

Yes, send me an address....if you're brave enough :) Nice of cleaver to let us have a book to do the rounds. If Kriss doesn't want it next I'm guessing Cleaver would be happy for it to go to the first Spartacus who raises his hand. :) Please post here not a pm, then if you're first PM me an address. I'll take the secret of where you live/postal name to the grave, and I'm not a stalker, but will happiy send to a PO Box or work address anonymously too: whatever is preferred.

I bought that (more sex is safer sex) book for my filipino maid.
Turns out that it's actually about economics. Instead of nookie, she wants a payrise.

If businesses boomed in recent years off the back of easy credit and silly people becoming grossly in debt then doesnt that mean when credit is hard to come by those businesses will collapse?

Even if we do all use this scrappage allowance and buy new cars when the money has to come from elsewhere. We have to make cuts on other things.

In answer to your first point . Woolworths , Zavvi , Adams, Officers Club, Coffee Republic, Starbucks, MFI, Borders bookstores have either gone to the wall or closed significant numbers of outlets due to funding issues.

Of the £2k. £1k is provided by the dealer/manufacturer. The government "gives" £1k. So providing the new vehicle sells for more than £8000 gross before discount. The Government collects more back in VAT than the £1,000 it gives away. If cars are imported then further amounts of VAT and import duty are collected ( on non EEC imports).

The car scrappage scheme is a clever tax raising scheme. By now you should know that GB raises tax whenever he can .
(He forgot about KIA cars though).

Councils wait until the very end of the year and wasted the rest of their money on silly things like changing small grass areas to blocks just to use their cash!

I think thats a common misconception- that the council spend all their budget at the end of the year.

The reality is common sense tells you to leave the bigger jobs to year end rather than spending this years budget quickly and then having nothing left over if theres an emergency!

My budgets amount to a few hundred thousand... I spend it wisely as though it was my own :money:
