in Cutting tax
I wonder if anyone can come up with an answer to this one??
The company I worked for has just been taken over. We all transfered to the new company no problems, except that the old company paid every 4 weeks, as does the new one but the tax years are different.
Consequently, we recieved our p45's that showed we had been paid until tax week 4. However the new company classes us as being paid to tax week 2.
This means that our tax contriutions are out of sync on the PAYE.
We received a payment for week 5(OLD), 3(NEW) to bring us inline with the new employers pay dates and this has been taxed at base rate 22%, as if it were extra earnings. This is despite the new company receiving the P45's and displaying this information on the new payslips.
Summed up we are being double hit for weeks 3 & 4
Does anyone have any ideas?????

This wont make any difference to the amount of tax that you pay this tax year unless for some reason you are on a Week 1 basis. Which will show on your payslip after the tax code.
I can see that you may feel you have paid alot of tax on your weeks wage but that is because you had used the allowances for that week already.0
