Is it possible that this £6 has been set up to collect the min payment and wasn't cancelled when you paid off the card which would make you in credit.

My understanding is that if they send you new cards, then you have to call up with your DOB or something in order to activate the card.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Just as an aside, since becoming a debt free wannabe in January this year I have been checking my online banking every single day!

Oh yeah! Here too - in fact, sometimes twice or three times a day (perhaps OCD? :o )

I've recently called to close my barclaycard and they sent me a letter saying that it was done, but that I would continue to receive statements and mailings until the balance was at zero. Which it was, the day I closed it.

What's the betting they keep all these things open in the hope that it'll make their total number of cardholders look good?

Halifax one card is one that doesn't. I got my new card last month and I didn't have to activate it, I just started using it.

    Hi fairylights,

Barclaycard will usually send out a letter stating you closed it and the next statement which shows zero. That is what they have done with me. But you do have to remind them to make sure they remove your details. They wanted me to leave them on their system so I could come back later and open a card quickly if I needed!

Just a really quick reply - you do need to tell Halifax Visa that your address has changed... I recently moved and changed address for my current account and assumed that my visa would be the same - luckily I only moved from my parents house so they were able to pass my credit card statement onto me which prompted me to change address...
I realise this isn't the most useful advice as to you current situation but just thought I'd let you know! good luck on finding out what is happening and hopefully getting your money back if it is a bank fault/theft...

By changing an address in branch on a Halifax account does not change a billing address on Halifax credit card - separate department

i'd get them to stop the card, because it is lost - it is not in your husbands hands - there is a sepcific lost and stolen line
