Intelligent finance/Bank of Scotland Statments

My husband has been bankrupt for 6 months, two of his credit cards were with bank of scotland and intelligent finance, within the past few days he has received a statement from them showing what the amount owed was. He has rang both companies and they said he does not owe them anything but do to a new law passed in august 2008 they are legally allowed to send statements out every 6 months for 3 years, has anyone else experienced this. The one he spoke to last night said the debt was passed to a debt collection agency and as far as he was concerned my husband can rip them up.
He received a letter from his OR at RTLU a month ago asking him to fill in his IPOQ for early discharge, could it be linked. Also as it was a month ago what is to the time scale if early discharge does happen, will he recieve a letter from OR before it says discharged on insolvency site.

Morning Dalip, yes things are good. Still watching every penny, but hey, thats why we went br. Just keep counting down to the days to AD.
Both the statements say welcome to your new look statement, maybe a computer error. Just going to file them. Husband does not want to contact OR because it says in the letter for his possible early discharge that he must not contact him.0 -
Hi NIDA, sounds like left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing. Regardless of any law passed I would assume that as bankruptcy has the legal power to wipe out debt and any statements sent should read a nil balance! Also a bit cheeky to sell on the debt - but I hear this is what they do!!2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)

Hi does that mean the debt collection agency, that incidentally intelligent finance put hi through to, can come to him for the debt. Bank of Scotland and Intelligent Finance have the same address, I think they are both part of Halifax.0

No they can't come after him for the money. Many will try though and you must stand your ground and refer them to OH's OR.2019 MFW No. 74 £13700/£30000 (45.66%)

They can try.....but they'll get !!!!!! all as the debts were covered in bankruptcy
a few of my Barclays debts were sold on a while ago....shame Max Recovery didnt get a pennyWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Intelligent Finance said the debt was transferred to Blair, Oilver and Scott, anyone heard of them.0

I think this is who BoS pass their delinquent debts to. I dont think they sell them on, the debt still belongs to BoS or IF or whichever bank but i dont think Blair Oliver & Scott are in the same business as say Max Recovery or other companies which buy bad debts for 5 pence or 10 pence in the £1 and then write to you saying they'll write off 25% of the debt if you pay up nowWould you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
CCCS funded by banks0 -
Blair, Oliver and Scott = Bank Of Scotland. They're just another part of HBOS but they give them a 'scary' name. I think it might be their legal department.BR as of 10:30am on 27/08/2009Proud BSC member #285Countdown to AD 27/08/2010"When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless.
