E-Mail..From HMR

Just a warning

I have had a couple of these e-mails
from HM Revenue & Customs.:-

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity, we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of 1527.29 GBP. Please submit the tax refund request and allow 6-9 days in order to process it.
Click removed by me :D to submit you tax refund request
Note : A refund can be delayed a variety of reasons, for example submitting invalid records or applying after deadline.
Yours Sincerely
HM Revenue & Customs

Do they think that I have just fell out of a lemon tree?
1) where would they get my e-mail address from
2) I don't pay tax anymore, as I do not earn enough
3) Would it not go to my OR anyway?

not sure on email address, sounds a bit suss to me, specially them doing it via email but then i've heard stranger things from this government lol :D

If you're still in BR(not DC) then yes, most likely it will go to the OR. If you have been discharged and no IPA/IPO then if its ligit, should be all yours (i'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong :D)

    Its a scam.

HMRC will never email about anything, especially not as generic as this. Yes, they think you fell out of a lemon tree. Hard!

I had one of these a few days ago. The fact it was from a .co.uk enail address as opposed to .gov.uk was a warning bell from the off.

File under rubbish/scam/do you really think I'm that stupid?
