  • i'd say buy medium sized value cheese block, maybe some frozen veg and have you got flour and eggs?

    ok, jacket spuds for lunch
could do toad in the hole for a dinner
roast chook, then keep 2/3rds of the meat, make a stock with the carcas and then you can do chicken noodle (spag) soup, chicken in gravy with mash
    chicken sarnies
hot dog hash? mashed spuds, chopped fried onions, cooked hot dogs, mix cook in oven for about 20 mins and serve with gravy,

pork chops with beans and hm chips

soup won't hurt for lunch for a while and if you give her a slice of bread in fingers she can dip it in too

thats all i got for now,

    hth

It sounds like you definitely have enough for main meals. What about breakfasts, I think I'd get a cheap bag of porridge oats and some extra milk. Then for snacks I'd just buy some cheap and cheerful fruit, apples, pears, plums and bananas. Is there anyone growing fruit on your allotment that you could swap some of your produce with?

do you have any baking ingredients?
  • do you go down to the allotment? if not take a wee trip and have a wee wander about. if you spy anyone tell them their veggies look lovely, get into conversation with them and see if they are kind enough to give you some freebies lol

make wee fairy cakes and pancakes for snacks. you could make savoury pancakes and fill them with a savoury sauce using the chicken in a white sauce or hot dogs in the tomato sauce then covered with some white sauce and into the oven.

give your dh soup before his main course to fill him up if hes easily hungry and less liable to finish off the main course if you wanted to keep for next days as well.

Have you any other veggies on the allotment?
    • Slice the sausages and layer in a dish with sliced onions, sliced potatoes, cover with a tin of the beans and put in the oven for half to three quarters of an hour.
    • You could have roast chicken one day, the next day a chicken curry or add the dolmio and some veg and serve with pasta or rice
    • The carcass can be used for a chicken and sweetcorn chowder or add loads of veg for a tasty soup and serve with toasted bread.
    • The other jar of dolmio can be used to make a sausage pasta again slice the sausages (If you slice the sausages they go a lot further) Or use the hot dogs instead of sausages.
    • If you take the meat off the pork chops you could make a nice stew.
    • If you have flour etc make pasties for lunches or have a tin of soup
    • Again if you have baking stuff make cakes and biscuits
    • Jacket spuds with baked beans
    • Get a large bag of porridge oats for breakfasts or make some American pancakes (If you go on Nigella's home page she has a recipe for a really good pancake mix that you just add milk to. http://www.nigella.com)
    • Make some potato pancakes
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
