Both barclays & co-op offer a basic account barclays has a visa debit co-op seems to sway between visa debit & electron card.....co-op has online banking facilitys barclays will take this feature away

co-op....you can pay cheques/cash in at any post office both cards from banks can be used in any "link" machine so really you dont need to be near a co-op branch....barclays can sometimes be difficult to set up...co-op can take up to 2wks or so..

Having experience of both...Coop is easiest & online banking is basic but very good. Plus you can open one over the phone.

Barclays are slow, no online, have to queue to see a PB & even then its takes ages.

Coop is a good allrounder account.

Abbey wrote to me about a week after I went BR to tell me that they would no longer be requiring my custom - my account was basic and in credit!!
