Hi everyone,
I know this might be a bit irrelevant to some people for this board but I am in debt to the tune of around £2000 on my credit card/Next account and then a further £8000 split across 2 loans. This year I'm going to try and get rid of the 2 grand so that I can chuck the extra money at my loans.
I'm feeling really nervous today though because I've got an interview tomorrow for a new job which if I got would start in 4 months time. The main point is that besides me desperately wanting to work at this new place because of the lovely people etc, it would mean a pay rise of about £7500 a year. Obviously this would be amazing for my debt free goals. I'm feeling sick with nerves though today - any tips to calm down/stay focussed/positive thoughts greatly appreciated!

The best of luck for tomorrow.
Have you got time to get to your library today? There are some very good books about answering questions at interviews, ie. what are your weaknesses - where you can turn these to your advantage.
I always get tongue-tied due to nerves and found having some of these answers prepared in my head (almost word for word!) really helped. Nerves can also affect how your personality comes across, especially when you want the job sooo much. You don't want to sound desparate!!
Lots of deep breathing exercises, dress in appropriate but comfortable attire (leave the high heels at home, something less to worry about!) a firm, but not too strong hand-shake (shows confidence) and write down some questions to ask them (shows your interest).
At the end, say you are still very interested in the role and ask when you're likely to hear anything more (if they don't tell you first). This leaves them with the last thing you said.
Do some research on the company. Often they ask if you know anything about what they do, etc. Have they got a website you can look at?
Have you got an OH or friend that you can role-play with?
Just some ideas..really hope you get it.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Good Luck for tomorrow, everyone has given such good tips here....
My tip is look at your own CV and think of which questions they are likely to ask on it, particularly those aspects which are relevant to the job.
Look at the person specification (if you have one) and try and think of examples of how you fit each one. A lot of the interviews I have been to lately use the person specification for the format of their questions.
Remember, don't panic - it is not the end of the world if you do not get the job...there are plenty more out there for you, so don't worry too much about it. Good Luck!0 -
Thank you everyone for your really helpful tips. I should hear on the day whether I've got it or not so I'll let you know!0
