Hello Folks,
if i'm about to go bankrupt and my account has 300 pounds cash in it,
can i take out 200 for living costs... whilst my account is frozen?
family of 5.

Draw out before you go bankrupt....don`t wait until the deed is done or you may get nothing back. Money for essential living expenses is allowed.

Our Br date was on Oh pay day, I paid all the bills online that I could do, then drew the rest out of the account. Approx £500. Told the OR on the phone after the hearing and nothing was said.

To confirm what the others have said, draw it all out, but do declare you have done it.
I cashed in £700's worth of Premium Bonds two weeks before I went BR so I could live of the cash. The OR never questioned me about it.BR 26th Jan 09 . . . Discharged 21/9/09 !!! :j:j:j0 -

i guess i still get some benefits paid so better not be too cheeky.

Tecnically premium bonds are an asset......but nothing to stop you cashing in before BR
