Worried sick - please help...

Hi,
Due to my own stupidity, I have received (and paid) a Penalty Notice for Disorder (PND) from the Police for behavior likely to cause alarm and distress - from what I gather, those caught urinating in the street are often given a PND for this.
This penalty is not a criminal conviction and nor does it create a criminal record. However, my details will be held on Police National Computer, although from what I understand, the information is held locally rather than centrally.
I am worried sick that this might affect any loan or mortgage application I make in the future. Reason being, I have just read this...
"The power to issue FPNs and PNDs has wide implications. Their use can have long-term consequences for future mortgage or job applications and the information is held on the police database"
Unfortunately I cannot post the link to this site, but I'm not sure of the validity of this statement.
I'm not overly familiar with mortgage applications, but have managed to flick through a few on the internet, and none seem to ask you to declare whether you've received a Penalty Notice for Disorder - instead the questions more relate to having a criminal conviction, criminal record or caution - none of which I have.
As for the job applications, I understand that PND will only potentially show on a CRB check if it is an enhanced check, and will only be disclosed if it's relevant, i.e. working with children etc.
Please can somebody clear this up so I can start sleeping again at night!
Your help is appreciated.

Some mortgage applications ask you to disclose and spent, pending convictions, however,
If it were me personally, I wouldn't worry about it too much. As you state it is not a conviction and chances of a mortgage company doing an enhanced CRB (which I've never heard of actually whilst I was working for a Mortgage company) are practically zilch.
Job wise, potentially threatening but again depends on the job and as you say, shows on enhanced CRB only if relevant, financially, can't see how, if at all it would affect. I'm sure someone will correct me tho if I'm wrong
I wouldn't worry too muchOn the Keyboard of Life - Always Keep a finger poised over the Esc Key! :rotfl:0 -
Thank you.
I spose even if they did an enhanced CRB, and it came back that I have a received a fixed penalty, then I still wouldn't have done anything wrong, in so much as it is not a conviction (spent or otherwise), nor do I have a criminal record and I've never received a caution.0 -
Have the police really got nothing better to do these days than mess up peoples entire lives by giving them penalties for p1ssing in the street?0

Seems pretty harsh, doesn't it. A fine and a slap on the wrist would be a more suitable punishment.
OP - hope it works out OK.0 -
Thanks guys.
This is about as low level as it gets in terms of punishments - a caution is more serious as it will appear on even a standard CRB check.
On the plus side, I've no criminal record or conviction.0 -

To pee or not to pee, that is the question0 -
I saw a police horse peeing in the street and even a horse belonging to the Queen doing exactly the same, no tickets I suspect.:rolleyes:0

This is a Fixed Penalty notice much the same as a parking fine that also is a FPN so dont worry too much. I cant see it being a problem for a mortgage application as there are literally thousands and thousands of people reciveing these for parking offences. This is simply a slap on the wrist and isnt something I hope you will do again. What is it with Men, drink and wee:rotfl::rotfl::j I have a persecution complex. Everytime I pass a shoe shop they persecute me till I buy them:j0

As far as I am aware you do not need an enhanced CRB when applying for a mortgage.I would be more worried if I had defaults or missed payments.I guess most banks don't care two hoots if you Pxxs on the streets as long as you make regular payments !0

They might frown upon your spending habits and consider you a higher risk.
You can't go around spending pennies with no consequences.0
