Bankruptcy Fees -question

Hello All,

My OH and I have a court date of 24th Aug for Bankruptcy, my query is we dont have enough funds to cover both sets of fees. We do not have an overdraft facility as have moved to Co-op in preparation for BR.

If we were to use existing Credit card / current account Overdraft to get the money for fees would the OR take a dim view on this ?

We dont have any other option available to us as we dont get paid until after the court date.

Anyone got any thoughts on this one ?

x

Most ORs turn a blind eye to taking out money on credit cards/overdraft facilities for BR fees so if you have the credit available take it out now.

When you do go BR I would also advise to clear out any money from other bank accounts that you plan using post BR just in case.

    :j :j

  • sorry to go slightly off topic here :D

seems daft to me to have to pay to go bankrupt. you're going bankrupt because you can't afford to pay anything but you have to pay to go bankrupt!!!! lol. silly! lol:rotfl:

Im not saying don't pay nothing at all but half a grand when you have no money is quite a substantial sum!!

I was told at County Court on Monday that there's plans to reduce the £310 part of it to £90 because of the economic situation and to make it easier for people. How true and when I don't know but just thought id pass it on

Ahh...is that bankruptcy or a debt relief order? (they're £90) if its the BR as well that will help a ton of people no end :D
