Nationwide - deliveries

Maybe I'm getting paranoid, I don't know.

This morning in the post came a handwritten brown envelope addressed to me containing a slip of paper from 'Nationwide Deliveries' telling me I'd missed a delivery and giving me a number to call.

Not expecting any delivery. 01895 number I didn't recognise (not in google) and which just rings through if I call it while withholding my number. No company information at all.

A sneaky debt collector (I'm BR 2 months now) or just paranoia?

It's not nationwide. It's a firm called 'Nationwide Deliveries' on a small photocopies piece of paper with a clip-art of a van either side. Will post the full number when I'm at my desk next - googling the number didn't turn up any results though.

    Thanks,

I have a vague recollection of this being a phone scam, you phone the number and it costs you an absolute fortune. I don't think it's a DCA.

  • If you have the full number try googling "whocallsme". I used this to see who was calling me before I became bankrupt LOL

  • Does anyone have any more information on this company? How are they a scam? The tel number is 01895 672923 - I am a bit worried as they have also posted a note through my door - it seems very shady.

It will be a dca, I worked for a dca which sent these cards out regularly, it is just to get you to call them.

From memory its a scam.......you call the number & they'll ask for CC details for a £2 or so for an "admin fee" till you find out your £100's lighter after they nick your details

  • Doucam is right - it is a DCA. Just figured it out! Thanks for the replies. Was worried it might be a sophisticated burglar attempting to track my movements given the amount of questions they asked when i phoned them.
