Hi Everyone,
I received a letter today from The Bankruptcy Protection Fund Ltd based in Manchester, offering their services with a view to cancelling my bankruptcy, pay my creditors and save my house.
Is this just a company trying to drum up business from people who have recently gone BR and getting their details from the Insolvency Register?
I only went BR last week, they are a bit quick off the mark.
What exactly is it they are offering and has anyone else received this letter?

Hi David, we all receive this letter, there is a thread somewhere about these people, the only they will cancel your BR is by getting you to take out a huge loan which will cancel out the amount you went BR for.
Not worth the paper it is written on.0 -
Yes Doucam is right David.....stay well clear x"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

Thank you all again for the advice.
I thought it looked a bit dodgy, so glad I checked on here, excellent advice as always!
Another one for the shredder.....0 -
hi david, they do have a place as they can do work for people who dont want the protection of bankruptcy (for instance if they were made bankrupt in there absence and they can actually pay there debts) but unfortunatly they look on the register and mailshot everyone, which is well below the belt for people who have just taken one of the hardest decisions of there lifeHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
Hi David,
I too received a wonderful letter or 2 from the Bankruptcy Protection Fund.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
If you receive their Terms and Conditions (I asked for them 3 times) you will see they are very pale grey and pretty hard to read without a magnifying glass.. from memory 15% fee on a secured advanced loan for 3 months with no guarantee of securing a new mortgae for the bankrupt.
My personal opinion would be censored!0 -
Hmm my cat loved the BPF letters I received after going BR a few years ago...VERY absorbant! We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
