Sesame seeds are a really good source of calcium and protien. I sprinkle them on my childrens breakfast cereals and they love them.

Chuck them in a stir fry.
Why not coat something like quorn fillets in them for a nice crunchy coating.
They did this on fish in the lastest somerfield magazine.

I've gone off seeds recently but I used to use them in salads. The cereals idea is a good one. Or why not just use them to bulk out casseroles or other main meals such as spag bol, cottage pie, stews and bakes. You could use them on top of bakes in place of breadcrumbs for example. We’ve had to remove your signature. Make tahini! You'll need a spice mill or somesuch. Just whizz the seeds up in that until you get a smooth paste. You can then make really good home-made hummus. I'm sure there's a recipe somewhere on the OS board.0_o0

Is that all I do to make Tahini then? I couldn't find it in Tesco the other week when I wanted to try to make Hummus.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
sesame seeds need to be ground or they just pass through whole and can also irritate the bowel. Just grind a bit at a time as needed
The seeds can turn rancid in only 3 months non-refrigerated storage, due to the high oil content0 -
They're a nice coating for home made burgers.
I also like them with grated carrot and sliced beetroot as a side salad.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Toast them and add to bread dough for rolls, or throw into salads (with pumpkin seeds)0
