to work out the weekly- divide the 4 weekly by 4 and multiply the monthly by 12 and then divide by 52... and the two together and there's your weekly rate

It is likely that you will pay tax on your second job, at least initially, but generally the way to avoid paying too much tax is to give in a P46 when you start a new job but don't have a P45.

If the combined income from BOTH jobs is likely to remain under your personal threshold (just over £6000 this tax year) then HMRC will sometimes split your tax code between both jobs so that you don't pay tax on either. But if they don't, and you don't earn enough to have needed to pay tax, you can reclaim it at the end of the tax year.

As liney has already said, the myth that students don't pay tax is just that, a myth. Students often don't earn over their personal allowance, but the moment they do, they're liable to pay tax like the rest of us.

    Is that weekly?

You get a tax free allowance of roughly £100 PW on your main job & pay basic rate on what you earn on the rest (on both jobs).
