You haven't said how much the debt is etc. Have you requested a CCA from them in respect of the debt? Even so, you can make payments to a debt which you later dispute.

    Hi run_rabbit
firstly have you requested your cca to make sure it is a valid and compliant copy ?
what is the debt for? is it credit card ect
if you have agreed to pay as indeed you have stated you have paid them this month they will be very hard to get off your back if they have your phone number ect as you have agreed this payment with them.
Have they sent you a letter confirming they accept this payment ?
  • its a littlewoods debt for £2100. i requested a cca from littlewoods and some people said it was in question as there was no apr on it. i wrote to debtline who said it maybe enforcable. i want to carry on paying just to keep them off my back a bit but should i ask them for a cca then?
  • anyone help here?

Yes you should because you need to see the terms of the debt (eg APR) and see if you have signed the agreement

can you post the cca up ?
If it doesnt contain all the prescribed terms then its unenforcable
who advised you it was missing APR ?
  • i posted it on another forum and it is missing the apr
  • i posted it on another forum and it is missing the apr
then unenforcable as far as i understand it
  • Littlewoods don't charge APR unless you have bought something over more than 52 weeks. And Lowell don't add interest on to catalogue debts as far as I know.

run rabbit does your cca say anthing about 0% apr or 0% interest
as far as i know it should mention it otherwise how would you know ?

lowells can and DO charge interest for catalogue debts ( as in my case), i have a lot of letters off them to prove it, all been reported to OFT and oft are looking into this case for me, for once the OFT have been very supportive and i am looking into an harrassment case againt them, i cannot go into details but lets just say things are looking good ;)
