confused with mis-selling endowment questionaire

I am trying to fill in the endowment forms from Norwich Union. One talks more about when we bought the endowment which is fine, I know who sold us the endowment and we still have pay slips from 1988! But the other wants to know about what mortgages we have had, we have had 6 since 1988, but do they really need to know this info, they want to know what rates we have had, we have had fixed rates, if we are still on interest only, we changed to part repayment in 2002, will they say we must have known then that the endowment would have a shortfall so should have complained earlier. Why do they want to know what pension provision we have? They want to know who our employers were, what other investments we had, my husband had a £10 a month prudential savings plan, does that work for us or against? If we had any life cover, dh had 4 x salary death in service, why do they need to know this?
Sorry for so many questions but I know pretty much all the answers to their questions but not sure if I am helping myself by giving them all the answers! As a very cautious person (who else has kept every payslip!) I know I would never have taken out an endowment if I had known there was even a slight risk, and don't want to give Norwich Union (old CU policy) any reason not to compensate, we deserve it.
Thanks in advance

Hi ragdoll, I followed advice on here and checked the form on the Ombudsman site. Compare with endow qu'aire and only fill in the ones that match - I just left current earnings etc blank and wrote 'not relevant'.
Mtg history - I went to great lengths to give a complete mtg history only for them to make assumptions on the rates!
I like you was very cautious but read through a lot of the threads here and that helped me understand what is really necessary.
Good luck - ours was finalised within 3 wks - I've just returned the form and opted for the redress to chop some of the mtg balance.

Should your complaint be uphled the calculation will take in to account your conversion to repayment in 2002. As to whether the claim will be rejected on this point - this will depend on when you first recieved a 'red' warning letter form NU.
The mortgage history section is 'nice' to know rather then a deal breaker - most providers will use assumption about your mortgage history if you can not provde specific details. These generally are in your favour...Who's going to fly your plane? / When you need to make your getaway....0
