DH and I are discussing setting goals for the future, eg. saving etc. and want a way to mark our progress each week, so we can see ourselves getting closer to our goals.
How do you mark/celebrate your progress?

A cheeky bump for the evening crowd.
On MSE, we often have our debts and progress in our signature, and I was wondering if people had a way of celebrating their progress in the real world.A penny saved is a penny earned.

I sometimes think of a treat that I buy myself.
A more MSE approach is to have a big chart of squares where each square represents a given amount towards your total and then you can colour in each square as you go (you could use pretty stickers a'la chores and behaviour charts fir kids if you wanted to)
I also bore friends by going on about how proud I am to have got 'sub £20k' or 'over halfway'£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)

Keep a log or diary so you can track your progress.
When you get 'down days' read through to remind yourself how far you've come :T
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
I like the chart idea, like a Blue Peter appeal! :beer:A penny saved is a penny earned.
