Hi all,

Right I currently have a mortgage with Halifax, fixed for 5 years which ends in Feb 2012..

Well I am having a nightmare with barclaycard, I stupidly missed a payment, which i paid a few days later & they have recorded this on my credit file last month as payment late & account overdue? I paid it!!!
Well i paid this months by direct debit, and having checked my file again they have again recorded another late payment mark so now i have two late payment marks!!!!!!!

My worry is now that when my mortgage is due for renewal in feb 2012, will i be ok getting a remortagage.??

I took out my mortgage for £95k, Propert is worth aprox £105,000 in current climate. I currently owe £90,300, my rate is fixed at 5.49..

Help appreciated..

If you don't agree with it tell the credit reference agency, they will then dispute the information with Barclays. I do not think a couple of late payments will make too much of a difference.

If you pay by DD, then it's Barclaycard that requests payment from your bank.
Perhaps you need to speak to Barclaycard and find out why the have registered a late payment against you for a DD payment.

    contact barclays to dispute it.

what's the rate you'll drop down to?

surely even in a worst case scenario, you could stay with your lender and the repayments would be less that your current APR.
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?
  • I will be disputing this with barclays im currently trying to transfer the balance off their card to interest free one..

I will obviously go onto svr in feb 2012, when our fixed deal comes to an end, no idea what rate will be like then. But I would like the opportunity to have another fixed rate & dont want late payments on barclay card to effect me..
  • Do you think a couple of late payment marks will stop me getting good fixed rate.
  • i had a similar issue with another debt I had, If you have access to your credit report through experian or similar. look online and find out how to add a notice of correction on your credit file it's not hard to do, must be under 200 words. I done this a few weeks ago and the black marks were removed from my file within 2 working weeks

I had an issue with some defaults and a CCJ in my name at an address I hadn't lived at for years. Yet a few years ago I had these put against my name.

About 3 weeks ago I contacted Equifax and this morning recieved an email telling these have now been removed from my file.
  • Yeah i may do that as they have also put mark saying Account overdue??? I have paid it.. It shows 1 payment late on account, however on summary screen it shows 2 late payements !!!!!!!!

Any ideas if this will affect re mortagage in 2012..
