Did ask the prices at the till (Sales Assistant thought I was slightly odd) all S&G in three of the stores I had checked were full price.

I really am thinking now it is to do with end-of-use date- there must be some stock thats soon to be too old for the sotres to sell (they like to have 6 months use left in the products they sell). Hence the reason some of the busier stores have nothing reduced (all the would-be reduced stock would have been bought months ago) where as quieter stores where there are fewer shoppers buying S&G are likely to have stock left. So a possible way to tell could be to look for the crypticly written end-of-use date!

Someone correct me if I am wrong on that.

Yes, I think you are probably right, Jenniewb. Some of the Sanctuary stuff I bought was really quite dusty but was fine when I opened it. I don't mind dusty stuff when it's so reduced :D

    Nothing at Meadowhell Boots yesterday.

    Thanks :(

Will check out Fargate tomorrow but not hopeful, for a store so big, it is quite small, the first time I ventured upstairs I was surprised that all they seem to fit up there is suncream, baby stuff and cards????

The butter I bought had a 50p money off coupon just under the lid which I thought was great, when I checked the coupon the expiry date was over a year ago. I've thrown it away so can't tell you the exact date. Your theory of old stock coule be correct.

Don't say that I bought loads of bits and pieces for christmas pressies.

I think it is more to do with the fact that the ranges are being discontinued. And the room is needed for new stock or the labels have changed.

I have bought tons of stuff recently from local boots reduced. I suspect that particular boots are just not going to to stock it any more. As the same stock is other stores at full price.

I pick up pharmacy items reduced and they all had use by dates in 2011. So hardly out of date.

    Yours

My body butter had that voucher too, it was valid from november 2007 to april 2008!(from memory) So definately old stock, if you've got them as presents just be sure to take these out before you give them to anyone. As long as the product hasnt started to be used it should be fine for the time stated on there from first use, they normally say 6M, 12M, 24M etc on the side somewhere.
