DC - Better to keep contract?

Im now a DC bankrupt but still have my orange contract phone (which has terrible signal!). Now I have the chance to cancel the contract, but is it better for my credit file to keep it?

Please let me know what you think.

  • Morning lindsaygalaxy,

Its hard to get mobile contract when bankrupt, so I would keep the contract as in the long term it help improve your credit rating.

There are several companies who have been giving mobile contracts out recently but it is a bit hit and miss and there is no consistency. Can you look at getting a new contract before giving the old one up. As a discharged BR you have a bit more chance at getting one.

Make sure all your credit referance files have been updated and correct, this will help with getting a new contract.
