I would strongly advise anyone buying a car-seat to do some research first. We had a baby 9 weeks ago and when I did my research, M&Ps car-seats were the WORST and MOST EXPENSIVE in testing done by Which?

At least one of their seats completely disintegrated during a very low-speed test done by the magazine.

Ironically one of their best was the Mothercare car-seat which also costs around £49.99 - all the time, not just in the sale.

Please do not scaremonger people. The primo viaggio car seat is not the worst car seat in the Which test. I have just double checked this to be sure. Admitedly it is not the best car seat in their test but if you have a mamas and papas travel system it makes sense to get it.

The Which report only says to avoid the Mamas and Papas Navetta!!

in addition to the last post I'd like to say that all of my baby equipment is made by Mamas and papas and I haven't had a single pronlem with anything. We are still using our Primo viaggio and my daughter is now 13 months, we also have the Pro tec and have been extremely pleased with both of these seats.

The Which reports are great but do remember that their 'scores' are given for ease of fitting, comfort for baby and value for money in addition to safety and then added up. If safety is your main concern then i'd just look at the safety score of each seat, if ease of fitting is your main concern then look mostly at that. Basically what I'm saying is that the reports should be used as a guide only. also please remember that certain seats are also better suited to certain cars etc etc.

The price of £49.99 is a brillisant one for ehat is a fantastic car seat.

I've got a Primo Viaggio and heartily recommend it. We bought a spare base and have one in each car making it a doddle each time. Plus of course you can lift the seat out and put it into the pushchair without disturbing the baby.

I wish he would still fit in it at 13 months. but he's closing in on 6 months and his feet are about to poke out the end of it!

    £49.99 is a great price.

nej, just wanted to mention... my baby was quite big and soon grew out of the primo viaggio. I went into mamas & papas and the assistant said as long as the top of the baby's head is not above the top of the seat its fine for the baby's feet to go over the edge. You might be best to go into a store yourself when you feel the baby is getting to big to check as they must be 20lb to go into the bigger car seat. Hope this is helpful.

Going to have a look in boots myself for my next baby! thanks.
