Lazy Sunday Afternoon - Baking !

Options
I'm bored !
OH is at work all day & then seeing friends. One child is out & the other playing nintendo. I have been cleaning all morning & am bored & bordering on fractious.
What i need is a bit of inspiration on what I can bake this afternoon. What can you suggest that is suitable for a coldish & raininy Sunday afternoon (two teenage boys so however much i bake it wont be too much) Alternatively if anyone can think of seomthing i can do which is more interesting than baking but still suitable for a skinflint like me, then thats good too !

Thank you in advance

I want to bake something too! My mum gave me an old electric mixer and I really want to try it out. But it has to be something without butter as I've only got a teensy bit left. I'm still looking through my cake books to find something.

person with no butter? have you tried cooking oil (I use sunflower) in savoury dishes?

can't vouch for any of them though as I never tried them.

    Scones!

Then you can eat them hot from the oven with lots of jam :j

I did my baking yesterday and made lemon drizzle sponge fingers - it gets cut into big bits (for H) and small bits (for me!)

There should be loads of recipes online for scones.

Mmmmm cheese scones. I will buy some butter when I go out tomorrow and make some.

I made chocloate chip cookie type things in the end. Not really the right thing to make in my new mixer, but they turned out ok.
