Thanks in advance

Milletts sell a product called Nikwax tech wash which is a liquid cleaner. Put it in the washing machine with the clothes and wash as normal. It doesn't affect the waterproofing . The bottle lasts for ages and cleans the clothes really well. Costs £3.99 but cheaper and less fuss than reproofing which I used to do till I saw this.

    Thanks Chrisico,

I had that stuff suggested to me, thing is there's no millets where I live and amn't sure where to find the stuff locally, I don't think the craghoppers jacket needs reproofed yet ( it might after a wash though) but the lundhags one certainly needs something done to it, it's certainly no-where near as water proof as it used to be and I fugure by the time it's washed it will be even less so!

Ho hum, will have to seee if I can find the NIkwax anywhere, thanks though.

This could work out expensive but this site sells it http://www.fieldandtrek.com/default.asp. I wasn't sure what it came under so I just typed it in the search on their site.

    Hi,

Here's the link to the Nikwax site:

    http://www.nikwax.co.uk/en-gb/index.php

There is a find stockist option at the top.

The site is also good for saying what product or combination of products you need for a specific garment - it is quite complicated!!

    Hope it helps.

I thoroughly recomend the Nikwax wash and also the re-proofer. I do all my coats every so often and its amazing what a difference it makes, I always use the re-proofer after washing them especially on my fleeces and other 'non' waterproof things and it does help with showerproofing them. The stuff does work well and i do suggest if you wash it you re-proof it. Try any camping/outdoor place. Or have a look on the nikwax website http://www.nikwax.co.uk/en-gb/index.php for the product you need and then you can order it from somewhere like snow and rock online http://www.snowandrock.com/ which seem to have all the products available

In a recent 'Trail' magazine a piece of research showed that Comfort (concentrate) worked 62% BETTER than any of the proprietary brands of reproofing stuff!

I can't find a web link to the magazine but I was reading it only last weekend.
