Hi i'm not sure if this is the right place. My husbanwent BR in April we've just come to renew our home insurance and the premiums have gone up massivly one quote was £760 for the year or people wouldn't quote us as we are BR.
Does anyone know if there is a particular company who are not so expensive?
We've been using a general site like 'go compare' etc to get quotes, would it be better to call the companies up?
Sorry just wondering if anyone has any advise really.
Thanks
Charlie

probably easier to ring around but DO shop around....there are still some companies that take bankrupts
try Co-Op or Royal Sun alliance More Than (they're who I've used for years & recently moved while BR & theinsurance has gone down!)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
We changed to Direct line and halved our premium, i even phoned them up and asked if they had any restrictions on people that are BR, they said that they have NO restrictions. Yippee!!!! :j
Also we were insured by Tesco previous to that and even made a claim whilst BR and they paid out no problems. Did a search on their terms and conditions just to make sure and there are no restrictions listed on Tesco home insurance either.
Both companies are underwritten by Royal bank of Scotland i believe, maybe it has something to do with it?
Hope this helps.0
