Dental implants question

Does the £1500 per tooth also include the cost of the bone augmentation you had done? I've had a quote for over £12,000 for two implants and bone augmentation for one of the implants.
No, the bone augmentation to cover upper 5, 6 and 7 plus sinus lift cost £1200. I also had to have a special scan which cost about £100.
I did a lot of research because there are many types of implants. The ones my dentist used are from the Nobel Biocare Group which are supposed to be the best (though no doubt others will disagree).

:doh:I mis-remembered the number of implants quoted for and the cost including bone augmentation. My quote is implant surgery for three (not two as previously posted) implants for upper right molar (16), upper left second premolar (25) and upper left first molar (26) plus sinus lift, plus 3 implant crowns = £7,482 (the figure of £12,000 came from adding it to the alternative quote for dental plate & crowns)!!!
Your total looks to be £5,700 - almost £1,800 less than my quote and you had more done i.e. bone augmentation for all 3 implants whereas I would only have it for position 26. Looks as though you got a good deal! I was almost tempted to ask where in North London you went. I live in Kent and would make the journey but then common sense prevailed 'cos if anything went wrong N. London's too far to get in as an emergency. As it is the implant dentist is a round trip 1 hour drive from where I live.
My regular dentist made the recommendation and I don't know anyone who has had implants to ask for further recommendations. £1,800 is a lot of money especially when you know of someone who received more for less!
Yes I paid just over £100 for the scan and assessment/report. Also the bone augmentation proposed is " Bio-Oss". The report/recommendations included lots of information on all aspects of the proposed procedure together with a list of everything that could go wrong (enough to put you off straightaway). I'd love to hear from you as to how the bone augmentation went e.g. could you feel anything, was there much after pain, have you had any sinus problems in last 10 months.
Thanks in advance.fitzroy0 -
