Predictions on mortgage rates

Crystal ball time.

I'm opting for a Northern Rock fixed rate (due to their generous lending criteria) but should I go for a 2 year fix or a 5 year fix or longer? Don't want to tie up too long because of exit penalties should I need to redeem, but I also don't want to be faced with a higher rate in 2 years time.

I think you sound like u already know what you wnat from the sound of your post! 5 years would be good, shame its so hard to get good 3 yrs rates as ofetne these days, we have a 2 yr rate, no choice in the matter, I would of been happier with 3 or 5 yrs tho.
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!
