freezing chillis

does anyone know if you can freeze chillis ? if so, is it best to freeze whole or cut up , i have grown more than i can eat and dont want to waste them

    Last year one of my pupils bought in a chilli plant from home and it provided us with non stop chillis ... we just picked them popped them in a tupperware and straight into the freezer... didn't chop or deseed or anything :)

  • I slice large chilies and place the on a baking tray to freeze before bagging them up.
    It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.

    I buy a big bag once a year from the market. I clean, dry and freeze.

    No problem at all with freezing them. I had a glut of homegrown chillies in 2007 which I bunged in the freezer in plastic boxes and I'm still using them. They're still absolutely fine. I also dried some and whizzed them up in the food pro to make those chilli flakes.
