Saw some discounted Karcher Pressure Washers in my local Homebase.
Cheapest was for £19.99 - I think this was for the K090 model.
There were 3 or 4 different models at various prices.
The prices £59.99 and £79.99 seem to ring bells, but can't remember which models these were for ???

yeah these are gonna sell great with a hose pipe ban...... lol.... :)0 -
Having recently bought my first pressure washer I don't think they're all that great.
Even if you blast the car clean the washer seems to get all the solid bits but the car still looks dirty afterwards. Had to use a sponge and bucket to soap it clean then pressure wash again. kind of defeats the object really!0 -
Interestingly enough, you can still use pressure washers when there is a hosepipe ban. (well according to my local water board anyway)0

Where I live it's Three Valleys Water. There's a hosepipe ban on which means you can't wash the car or water the garden but you're allowed to use a pressure washer to clean paths, patio areas and windows. (Can't imagine washing the windows with one!)
Apparently local stores are expecting an influx of people buying pressure washers. After all, if you're washing the patio and accidentally spray the flowerbeds, what can you do!
Also said in the local paper that Three Valleys can't fine you on the spot because you might not have known there was a hosepipe ban in place. They first have to write and inform you that there's a ban on and then if you're caught again, they'll take legal action - maximum fine is then a £1,000.00.
Four hundred people have already been dobbed in by their neighbours!0 -

Maybe you need to go on a car valeting course, the idea is after you have washed the car, you dry it with a chamois.
Sounds like you have been cleaning a tractor0 -

Might give the chammy dry idea a go.... Anyone know if those synthetic chammy's are any good? (a fraction of the price of a real one too!).
Having said that, it does a good job on the patio.0 -

That is one weird rule, cos the hosepipe plugs into the pressure washer, where esle do the water boards think it's going to come from !!?? :rotfl:Mortgage Free Wannabe Light Bulb Moment (Early 2012, started May 2012)

I used to use one....but use a bucket sponge as I can clean a car quicker and better that way.....the jetwash is only good for washing alloys wheels after scrubbing them with a sponge/wonder wheels & clean block pathing
problem is theyre a pain to setup and the cabling/hose is a pain.....unless you invest in one with a trolleyStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -
I've just found (and ordered) an excellant deal on a Karcher pressure washer model K497MD at https://www.cleanstore.co.uk . Was £231.95 (£199.99 on several other sites) and is now £119.95 + £5 p + p. May not sound cheap but is for this kind of model!

Clean cars? Just wait till it rains and send the kids out with a bucket and sponge.
damn No kids.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
