Employment Post Bankruptcy

Hey Folks;

I'm just over halfway into my bankruptcy and well have found getting a job in an area of skill I had impossible due to it.

So whilst working part time I've looked into obtaining a degree in law/criminology.

I can't seem to find anywhere a definitive list of prohibited occupations or any practical experience of problems associated with BR and being a solicitor/barrister for example.

I did read that you are prohibited from being an accountant, but are you prohibited per se from being a lawyer or legal consultant/advisor?

    I read that too about being an accountant but after speaking to AAT they said they do allow bankrupts but they look at individual circumstances and what lead to the bankruptcy :)

    I cant answer other question but sure someone will be able to :)

    Ta for replies.

    I did a little more research and found that the solicitors regulatory authority have a clause when applying for a compulsory legal practice course. This is mandatory after obtaining degree. It seems it is subjective on how the bankruptcy arose but in normal circumstances an application is denied.

    Mine was due to my bank recalling loan finance on my first business just as I was about to trade, due to global recession. ;/

    That might be okay, as its not an issue of my integrity, but does leave the element of chance to such a venture!
