i'm going on holiday in 2 weeks and always get a really bad reaction to mosquito bites (swollen limbs and trips to the doctor are not the best way to spend a holiday!).
I could do with some good suggestions on what products I could take. Someone once told me of one you can buy in duty free but i cant remember the name of it to research the ingredients.
Please help!
Thanks

You never know your luck!
I can empathise- I was off my foot and on crutches for no less that 2 weeks once- all because of a sodding Mozzie bite!Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -
Well, if you do get bitten, try TCP- rubbing it on the bite for a few minutes -3 to 5, before moving on to the next bite- does not go away as soon as you stop rubbing but after 2 minutes wait, the itch from that particular bite has gone!
But the top itch relief is amonia. Yup, thats why I use TCP. Smells strongly for days after but does work!
Amonia like bleach. After Bite (a remedy) is essentially amonia and I have been through a few remedies and its the only thing that got rid of my itching, but on many forums elsewhere the top rated advice is simply plain bleach watered down a little. - Can scar skin if you overuse it.
I know this as I went running one evening outside for little over 30 minutes. Came home to 55 bites all on my inner calves. No joke- I normally get about 2 bites a year max.0 -
Ive just come back from Ibiza with 13 mozzy bites , i always use repellent but it never works, so i go straight to the pharmacist to get some cream , its always been good0

cut down on your sugar intake as this attracts mozzies and pop into holland and barrett and get some garlic tablets...makes the blood taste foul to mozzies, as does pineapple (I think)0

Take Brewers yeast tablets a couple of weeks before you go and also while you are there.
I combine this with using Skin So soft too.
Also make sure you use the tablets / plugs in your accommodation.
I do all the above but still get the odd bite but nowhere near as bad as I used to.
Also if you do get bitten try dabbing on some vinegar to stop the urge to itch (as per the previous post it must be the ammonia)0 -

Get one of those nets you can hang from the ceiling to avoid night-time ones - they pack into a case quite nicely and there is normally something you can hang them from. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
