Tesco Rewards help please.

Hi, I need some help, but if this is the wrong board, please feel free to move me along.

I got my Tesco Rewards today, and as money is a bit tight, I thought I'd get some essentials for back to school by doubling up on my vouchers. Alongside these, I got a £7 off £50 spend voucher which is valid til the end of August.

My question is, can I use my doubled up rewards (will be worth £35) and then £15 of shopping up to my £50 limit, then redeem the voucher to get the whole lot for £43 minus the rewards of £35 equalling £8 total for the whole lot?

I hope that makes sense, it does in my head !!

  • Yes - but you will not be able to double up to £35, you can only do so in multiples of £10 (£5 reward vouchers doubled to £10).

Anyone on here, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!!

I see. What's the point in them sending me the £2.50 one then? So, to double check. £15 vouchers doubled up to £30, plus £20 spend, minus £7 off £50 voucher = only £13 cash? Thanks.

  • Read with interest two articles on Sunday ref. Tesco Deals Tokens and Ryanair. Just be wary readers before booking anything on this excellent (4 x value of points deal, when converted) discount scheme. 75% of Companies I've dealt with (4 so far this year) are up-front deals ie. what you see on the tin'ternet...is what you pay in tokens. These are Hilton Hotels, IsleofWight Ferries and Eurostar. Just go online get a price and call the booking line.
They will charge you the same.
However, the 25% of my experience is Olde English Inns, who, although quoting (on two seperate occasions) an online price and availability, soon change the reply when you call the central office and ask to book and pay by Deals Tokens.
Firstly the price goes up by 50 to 100% (eg.The Cedars and Ryde Castle Hotels) and suddenly the 13 rooms available are not, "...because they only allow a few vacancies for Tesco Deals". Facts as at Saturday 8th August.
I have forwarded Tesco my experiences, together with relevant e-mailed replies, but they can't do much about it....rack rents apply...small print...etc.
Good job I didn't want to go to an Old English Inn using Ryanair....!!!!!

Because the £10 denomination rule only applies if you're doubling up. Your £2.50 voucher would still be worth £10 in deals, or (whispers) £2.50 off your shopping.

I have just been conned in the same way by Old English Inns and using Tesco points. They chrged me £110 a room per night which would have cost me £79 if I had booked with the hotel direct £51.50 through Old English Inns. I am contacting them to ask why the difference and also Tesco's so I will let you know the respnse...
