A few years ago i got a pack for raising funds for childline by baking cookies... it was a lovely recipe and the cookies turned out great! really moist and moreish!
BUT ive lost the recipe!
Have googled but there is only old information about how to get the fundraising pack from years ago.. checked the childline site and now they do a cake challenge instead of cookies so not even any hope there!
Was wondering if anyone had a copy of this recipe as id LOVE to make them again.... specially seen as ive just TRIED to make some choc chip cookies now and they are like lethal weapons.. probably knock someone out cold if you hit them on the head with one :rotfl: :rotfl:

if you dont find the recipe you could get in touch with lakeland ltd as they are very helpful, one year, i remember, they included the recipe in their catalogue with the pudsey bear cookie cutters, if they can help they will.0

Is it Childline or Children in Need that you are thinking of?
I have the Pudsey Bear (Children in Need) cookie recipe if you want it.0 -
A few years too late, I fear, but maybe of use to someone. I think it's a great recipe that I have used in a preschool for years.
OUR FAVOURITE BISCUIT RECIPE courtesy of Childline
INGREDIENTS
350g plain flour 175g butter/margarine
175g caster sugar 1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon baking powder A little milk, if needed
OPTIONAL FLAVOURINGS
Choose one, & add when creaming the fat & sugar: or choose two & divide mixture in half when made, but be careful to mix thoroughly if you do this]
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
1 teaspoon ground ginger 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 teaspoon mixed spice [Or invent your own e.g. chocolate chips]
METHOD- Cream together the fat & sugar until light & fluffy
- Beat in the egg
- Stir in the flour & baking powder, forming the mixture into a ball.
- Add a little milk if necessary.
- Place the dough in the fridge to cool.
- Roll out the dough on a clean, floured surface. It needs to be about as thick as the depth of the cutters.
- Grease and flour the cutters before use. They may need flouring again as you go.
- Gently lift the biscuits and place on a greased baking tray.
- Bake at 180C, 350F, Gas Mark 4, for about 15-20 minutes or until pale gold in colour.
- Move the biscuits on to a wire cooling rack. They can be decorated when cool.
These make firm biscuits which hold the outline of cookie cutters well.
Italics = my additions.
