Tax Credits Overpayments and BR

Hi, hoping someone might be able to enlighten me. I am in debt to the tune of 50K+ about 33K of this is an overpayment to tax credits. Realistically, I have no chance of paying any of my debt off due to being made redundant, was hoping to file for BR before the end of the year and was wondering if my overpayments could be included in my BR. I am based in Scotland so I know different rules will apply. Any help/advice will be gratefully received. Thanks
