No, they just ask you for your details again over the phone. It's a 10min conversation and a decision straight away. hope this helps!0

Well I will have had 9 full Payments by then, and never missed a payment ever, so do you think i should be ok. I had one last year and the year before.0

Not necessarily. It IS just a phone conversation, however they are now referring more to the underwriters to look over, who will respond to you in 24hrs. I guess anything not straight forward gets this treatment.
They won't want any letters or anything. They will just ask your income, outgoings, debts outstanding etc.0 -
Hi,
My husband and I moved house 3 years ago and remortgaged with Northern Rock with the payment holiday feature. Northern Rock have been fantastic no reason to complain.
We took a payment holiday 2 months ago which was great but we received a letter last month telling us our monthly repayment will be increased to cover the interest on this repayment holiday - but we are on a fixed rate?!
We questioned this with Northern Rock and they are saying the payment holiday procedure has changed and that they are not adding the payment holiday on to the end of the mortgage, they are saying there is basically nothing we can do about this, but if we had know this we certainly would have not taken a payment holiday as our mortgage payment has now increased by £20 a month.
Despite complaining they have not responded and are ignoring our letters.
Please be careful anybody with Northern Rock.0
