Hey all,

I'm not that new, i've been following this website for about a year however only started comping about 2 months ago (still no win...but its only been 2 months). I was reading a thread (I cannot link you as i am a new member unfortunately) the other day about a member who hasn't won anything in 2 years and well I really don't want to end up like that as well! In the thread people were saying that they enter 50-100 competitions a day....where do they find all these competitions? Everyday i enter all the regular competitions i like along with all the competitions that i like which are closing the next day: This usually adds up to a total of 35'ish competition entries per day. Is it that im being to selective with the competitions i enter? or are the people who enter 50+ comps a day entering comps posted on other websites. Also (just thought of this now:tongue:), could it be that the reason im entering only 35'ish competitions per day is because im only entering competitions which close on that day (i.e that night)?

Sorry for this long post, hope someone can help me with my questions. Wish you all good luck with upcoming comps.

All the best,

Monster

n.b. mod sorry if this in the wrong section i didnt know where to post this

Like you I have no idea were people find so many comps to enter - unless they enter the same one a few times using different email addresses.
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

Sometimes I only enter 5 in a day. I just go for stuff I actually want, been comping since April and finally got my first win last friday - it's all just down to luck of the draw, really. Like that Pepsi comp - some people win on their first code, others have entered hundreds with no wins. Honestly, you could enter every single competition ever posted and not win anything, or even win all of them. *shrugs*

I've never really counted how many competitions I enter a day, but it does seem to be quite a few.

When I have time I go through all the competitions ending the next day and enter any of those which I've not already entered.
Then I do the Daily Competitions and after that I just go through the main board from Page 1 and enter what I fancy. I enter most things except tickets and some holidays.

    Just keep ploughing away. :D
Love all, trust a few. Do wrong to none.

An eye for an eye only leads to more blindness.
  • I would definitely say try entering more comps, maybe try the dailies and the monthlys too if your not already. I enter between 400-1000 competitions per week and spend about 5 hours a day doing this. Out of all these, I generally get around 8-10 small prizes a month eg dvds, cds, make up and one largish win a month as in something worth £100+. It is all luck of the draw though and some comps will take a long time to notify you. I had a wem a couple of weeks ago from a comp that ended in January so even though your entering the comps ending, it maybe that they still havent notified winners. Best of Luck and hope you get a win soon.

i enter at least 100 a day, there are loads of comps on this board alone, let alone other sites

and i only enter for the comps i wish to enter, i also do postal/text comps (good chance of winning there) a lot of my wins this year have been postal or text, then there is the reg section, dailies, weeklies and monthlies

if you put in the effort to enter the comps, then you will get back, simple as that:D

    good luck
  • Just wondering, are you sorting the competitions into date order? Thats how I enter comps, change the way I view them into 'Thread Title' which arranges them into date order using the E:date and then I do the competitions ending the next day. There is always usually 100 competitions at least to enter, and at the end of the month there is at the very least 50 pages full of comps to enter.

I don't enter comps from any other sites and still manage to enter between 50 and 150 competitions a day if not more. I also enter between 5-10 dailies/weeklies/monthlies regularly at the relevant times.

It is possible, if you put enough time in, you will see the rewards. Good luck!
Thanks to all who post comps!

I enter at least 100 a day, but the main of my competition wins are for my kids, I have 7yr old step daughter, a toddler plus I'm pregnant so that makes a lot of competitions useful to me that would be no use to someone else... If I didn't have young children my comp entries would drop a lot.

Most of my wins are small wins so if the main of the comps you're entering are for the more popular high value prizes then your win rate is probably going to be less but when you do get a prize it will be a good one.

Best thing to do is not expect to win, I've had months where I have only won 3 tiny prizes & thats from entering thousands of competitions... other months I have won over £1000 worth

I only enter competitions from this site as the majority of them are on here. Theres more people entering competitions these days so its becoming more & more difficult to win
Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

Thanks for all the feedback, from what you guys have said i think my "problem" is that im being possibly a bit too picky on the competitions i enter. That being said theres no point in entering a competition if you don't intend to use/want the prize (taking it away form someone else). I guess i will have to put more time and open up my range of prizes slightly more (as well as doing monthly's etc).

thanks again everyone! p.s. im gonna buy my first pepsi can today lets see if i win first time :P

Also don't forget if there is only one prize per comp and a number of MSE's are entering then truth be told your chances of winning will be slightly slimmer.

If you look at the number of times a post as been thanked you can see how popular a competition is. therefore a comp to win £5000 or a state of the art home cinema system will probably get about 500 thanks.
Where as if the competition is to win a meal in your area then you'll probably get more chances.
My only win so far is tickets to see We Will Rock You in Manchester.
Fewer people entered this because what would be the point of somebody from Glasgow or Bristol entering the competition for a prize in Manchester?

That is not to say you shouldn't enter top prizes. Out of those 500 that enter you have more chances to win than if you don't enter.

When I do comps I have never taken the attitude IF I WIN it is alway WHEN I WIN.
Know point entering comps if the thought is IF.
