  • We hired the rooms at Fort Purbrook on the hill. You can also hire the grounds for marquees. The views from up there are amazing, and the price good as you can choose your own caterer, dj, etc. Rooms are quite simple though, but place has character. Search for peter Ashley activity centre for details.

What sort of places have been used? Alverstoke is a pretty popular area, and I'm not sure about any others

Its a bit further out than Fareham but how about the Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst? Its a beautiful 4 Star hotel in a gorgeous setting (The New Forest) Staff are very helpful and pleasant and knowledgable about the local area. The wedding rooms and hotel areas are nice and big. We have only been there for a couple of weddings but the staff recognise us already. Possibly the amount of time we spend propping up the bar? ;)

Hope the wedding goes off well, good luck

We went to a wedding at the Tithe Barn in Petersfield a couple of years ago. It was very nice there. Not sure how far it is from you though.

For something different how about spitbank fort?
Dont know what its like now but what was Downend Country club in Downend road, fareham, is now fitness first, but they used to do a fab wedding reception with full use of bar, function room and grounds.

The marriot hotel over whiteley/titchfield is also lovely.

As someone mentioned above, it would help if you add what kind of budget/style you are looking at.

Have a wonderful day wherever u chose!
