:grouphug: Lou, unless you had gone out in your saloon girl outfit I don't know why they were slagging you off but hope you had a nice night with your pal anyway.

Try to enjoy your shopping trip with MIL - no chance she'd accept deliveries instead by Mr A? or does she enjoy this bonding session with you...

    It was actually:o

They both had clothes on that are In fashion now, my dress I have had for a good few years but I think it always looks nice......

Apparantly I need to get "with it" cause I looked dowdy in my dress and wearing the latest fashions will make me look younger.

Wearing the latest fashions will make you look like a try hard wannabe with nothing more in your life than shallow materialism. Just my opinion of course!
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I went round the shops yesterday and my overwhelming feeling was that they'd brought the worst of the 80s stuff back! anything REALLY old in your wardrobe:rolleyes:?

I go with OH we like to make sure that she gets out a bit and seeing as though the last time we took her on a proper day out she ended up in hospital we are sticking with the weekly shopping trip to Asda.

She likes to have a good look around and get some of the heavier stuff and she often sees people she knows so she enjoys standing and chatting.

She is hard work but we still need to make sure that she keeps as much independence as possible by shopping for herself.

I do need some new clothes I guess but I think that fashions are a waste of money for me, I prefer classic cuts that wont date then I can wear things for years and they still look nice.

It is all very 80's at the moment, unfortunately anything from that era for me will be in a size 6 if I have anything left:rolleyes:

Stick to what makes you comfortable, you'll look better in that than in the latest fashions if you're uncomfortable and don't like it.

I feel that way too - really don't want the 80s tatt that's about or jeggings! I want to grow old gracefully...not that I'm old but too old for some stuff:D.
I don't think that real friends would care though, one of my mates is still living in the 80s but I'd not want to hurt her feelings by saying anything and it really doesn't matter cos she's a lovely person and great company so what she wears is really not an issue. Sounds like they really are the ones that feel inferior somehow and are trying to bring you down.
