Adobe Premiere Elements 2 and Photoshop Elements 4 £39.99 in Staples

Hi all, long time reader of this forum but this is my first post - please be gentle with me!

Title says it all really. Spotted this in Bedford Interchange Retail Park, and also Stevenage, which has £59.99 on the shelf but scans at £39.99. RRP for this is £99.99.

The best part is that if you have a previous version of either, or a competitor's product, you can claim £20 back from Adobe. I also got a £5 staples voucher too! :T

There is a form inside the box, you need to fill in your name and address, e-mail, reason for purchase, name(s) of current software you use for photo and video editing. Send this with a photocopy of the receipt and a proof of purchase from the box to the address on the form. Says it could take up to six weeks to receive the cheque though...

So basically, after the chequeback, the cost of Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 AND premiere elements 2 is only £19.99!!!

The exact same bundle retails on Amazon for £96.99!

If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is!

I have been looking into getting this and have been checking prices online for the last few days.

The only thing I will say about Premier Elements 2 is that you do need a good spec PC or it will not even install. By that I mean you kneed a CPU that supports the SSE2.

But I will be through at Staples in the morning for this.

1stly, what's SSE2? I've a vanilla P4 2.66ghz, that's presumably good enough?

I've been using Pinnacle's Studio for the lst few years, I upgraded that to V8, and had been thinking of upgrading again to 10.5plus. It's going to cost me ~£20 to go for either the upgrade or Premiere Elements... Is Elements definitely the way to go?

You can pick up really good bargains on ebay for software like this. Some of it may not be fully licensed but a ot of it is.
