has anyone a paycard meter from NIE

What do you think of it?Trying to cut our bill, thought it may make us all more conscious of the price.

Yep we got one in a few months ago and it is saving us about 20-30p Per day, average day in July was £2.02. We did however get the powershift version of it, where you pay different rates at different times of the day.

We had one for a year while living in a rented house and it annoyed me immensely. I was constantly worried about running out of credit, so put £50 on at a time, then forgot about it and ran out a couple of times. We were a good 10 miles from the nearest paypoint, but wasn't too bad once we discovered you could top-up online. We are very glad to be back on quarterly billing.

We also use the Powershift tariff on our NIE prepay meter.

Our monthly usage used to be £85-£95 it's now £55-£65. I think the meters are great and it's one less big bill coming in every quarter

Remember you can topup online now so no need to go to a pay point.

We have always had a pre pay meter in our house so can't compare savings. First it was the £5 cards you could buy then changed to the keypad. We like it as we are not hit with a big bill every quarter and you can buy top ups on line or over the phone (min £15 online).
