I bought somes cherries that were reduced in Sainsburys with the idea of eating them as I love cherries but thought it might be nicer to maybe put them in a cake. Are cherries quite easy to get the stone out of as I don't really want to spend loads of time trying to get the stone out and making a mess of the cherry?
Also I have some raspberries from my garden in the freezer. Would putting the cherries and the raspberries in the cake go together?
Just trying to think of ways of using up my fruit without making loads of different things. Although any suggestions will be most welcome.

I actually invested in a cherry and oliive stoner from Lakeland. I thought it was quite a reasonable investment for £6.87 and it saves hours of work and mushed up cherries.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I have a cherry stoner too and use it for stoning olives;)
I think fresh cherries are nicest au naturel and find the flavour diminishes when baked in something. Scoff 'em neat I say.0
