Court tommorow !!!

Hi,
I am handing im my forms for bankruptcy in the morning to the local court my appointment is at 9.30, just had a couple of questions to ask to make sure I have everything in place,
1, I am taking the bankruptcy form,
2, Money £360 I am on jobseekers income based so dont have to pay costs, I have checked and they said i dont need to pay it tommorow.
3, Form to state i dont have to pay the costs ( I got it from c.a.b )
4, Confermation that I am on jobseekers income based from job centre.

Is there anything else I need to take? someone mentioned that I need to take 3 copys of the paperwork? do I take letters from who I owe money too or statments with me?

one more thing im with abbey national bank, I know some accounts close, what is the situation with abbey? I have a standard acount with visa electron card, no chq book. and at the moment that is the account I have my job seekers money payed into.
Will I need to look into opening an account somewhere else, I know people mention co op but there one of the companys i owe money too so dont think they will give me a account.

Thank you for all your help so far :T

J

Hi mr john. You could try opening a Barclays account. They have been known to let people open an account even if they are a creditor. I'm not sure whether Abbey will let you keep the account (used to be definite no but some banks are being more lenient now). If you haven't already enquired how many copies of BR petition your court need I would be prudent and take along 3 just in case - mine only needed one.

Also check that the letter you have from the job centre is dated in the last month or you wonn't get the discount.

Take something to read with you as you may have long periods of waiting, some money for the drinks machine and a snack for if you get a bit peckish.

  • Three sets of paperwork, which includes your SOA.yo sign this and date it once the clerk has gone through it.No need for the creditor letters as they will need to be seen by the OR once they contact you.Proof of JSA within one month, and your payment with the exemption certificate.I went through it just last week.good luck to you.
