Experian 926, Equifax LOW - which loans use experian?
My experian score is 926, my equifax just over half this.
I dont pretend to be an expert on understanding the difference, but i do want to shift my 12k 7.9% (lloyds) loan over to a lower monthly ie 5.6-6.1%, same duration.
Last month i got accepted with cahoot at 5.6%, I phoned them again to get this lloyds loan shifted, but they said i was already at my credit limit with them.
I have no problems making the repayments for both loans, but I would like a cheaper alternative to the lloyds one.
I figure its easier to apply for a loan with a loan provider who uses experian. I applied for the aa loan today, but got rejected.
Does anyone have any advice on which loan providers i should be looking at?
thanks

As far as I know HSBC branches use experien not equifax, as do cooperative,
I'm fairly sure Direct Line use equifax,
Best thing to do is just call up and ask before you apply, they normally tell you.
Be carefull not to make too many applications though as this trashes your rating, if you call HSBC as them for a loan 'quote' as they usually do this doing an unrecorded enquiry... This will give you a yes or no answer there and then without a full credit search, only when you say 'yes' and accept the loan will they search your file again and leave a record of the search.0 -
TakeAway thanks for the info there. Im really interested to know which of say the top 10 loan providers on MoneySupermarket.com use experian. I'm sure there must be a compiled list out there. If anyone is in the know, pls give a link to this list as it will be of benefit to anyone looking for this now and in the future.
