Looking to buy a curling product to curl my hair with, am clueless as to what to get though

i have shoulder length, thick hair that tends to be wavy now and again

looking for something that is easy to use and for the curls to last 4-5 hours roughly, would tongs be better or curlers? any advice would be great, thanks:D
