I've moved this over here as it seems more suitable, plus you might find some people in the same boat who can help
Hope you get it sorted0 -
I dont think the system caters for surprise gifts. One parcel looks like any other. I think the only redress would have been if it were on a special national occasion as opposed to your dads special day, ie valentines day etc. no point getting flowers the day after IYKWIM.
Unless you told them there was special delivery instructions, I doubt you will get much back from anyone.
I'm sure your dad won't mind getting such a cool present early or at the wrong moment  He's a bloke receiving unexpected expensive technical gadgetry....He'll be made up !! :rotfl:

I would rate the incident as one of those things that will make a good story down the pub in another couple of weeks ... its not worth getting annoyed about. Couriers are often in a lsoe-lose situation .. if they do deliver to a neighbour then this does not suit some people and if they take it back to the depot then it does not suit some people. The main thing is that he got his pressie ... make a joke about it, put a mouse in a very large box and wrap it up for his birthday.

I think its just bad luck-at least they got it to you!0

Ok it might not be Dell's faulty directly, but they are responsible for choosing what carrier they use to get the product to the customer.
I would definately complain to Dell saying their reputation is getting ruined by slip shod delivery personnel.
Ok, it won't help you, but it may save the next person. There is no need to run outside

but can i just say there is a difference between overnight carriers and same day couriers, the former are given 80 drops to do b4 midday and the latter pick up and go...... so you get a better deal with me despite the 1500,000 miles on my clock!!!
sorry for your troubles mate. not that it makes you feel better,0 -
I had problems with the Dell couriers a while ago and complained to Dell about it. They were apologetic and refunded my delivery charges. Generous in the extreme, I had not even paid any delivery charges.0
