Didn't know we had an O2 academy in Bristol!
However, if it is Bristol you want to stay in, my sisters stayed at the Marriott using Tesco vouchers and were quite happy.
Note the Marriott City Centre is far more convenient for transport links than the Marriott Royal in Bristol.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Might be helpful if you say where the o2 academy is, I also didnt know there was one in Bristol, that way we can be sure the hotels are near it.
There is a travelodge in the centre and one out of town by the motorway also, you might be able to get a cheap room from them if you just wanna get your head down.:j

OK, we live and learn.
O2 Academy.
I think I thought it was the Carling Academy.
In that case, the Marriott Royal is closer. Depends which is more important, convenience of getting back to the airport, or convenience for the venue.
And I'd only recommend the Marriott if you've got a good deal there!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Bristol is in the SW of England, not far from Wales (so close we've had roadwork signs in Welsh, apparently!)
The natives are very friendly.
So, being practical, have you worked through Martin's article on cheap hotels?
And I've had another thought: DH had some students staying here, and it was fine. It's also not far from the O2. There are several other hostels, don't know if any of them do ensuites.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
who are you seeing? its not a big venue0
