csa have finally made a new assessment but what happens now?

Finally the csa have made a new assessment on my case. They have sent my ex the paperwork saying how much he has to pay and when.

First payment is due today, but there's no way he'll pay it, so what happens now?

I asked the csa guy who phoned me to say he made the assessment what happens if he didn't pay, and he said my ex would get a reminder, and if still didn't pay would get a deo.

All sounds fair and well, but how long does this all take to happen?

If you keep at them it should not take too long, as they have only just done assessment they must know where your ex works. Keep at them

In my case was sent a reminder in late December, I phone and confirmed this call in writing, as was told not to pay anything untill they had done an investigation. The DEO was in place by Jan 3.

The war that has followed was not on thier plan. There is now a pos that some of the CSA people will go to prison as a result of thier actions! It is down to the Court of Appeal as it is admitted that they have lied in Court!

OMG what a nightmare BLOB. Surely they should have cancelled the deo straight away once the error was found?

Icey ... welcome to the world of being dangled along by the NRP who doesn't want to pay.

The system is such that if the NRP doesn't want to pay, then there is very little you can do. Fortunately, there are many NRP's who consientiously - late at nite to spell! - provide for their children. However, and the reason why the CSA was created, there are many NRP's who get their kicks out of ducking their responsibilities.

I, and my children, have learned over the last five years or so not to bother expecting regular payments. The 'reminder' precedes the DEO by about eight months in my experience, and even then when a DEO catches up with the NRP, the likelihood is that they will either jump jobs or have a 'friendly' arrangement with their employer.

Sorry I did not jump jobs, and they have elected to fight, so be it I will fight, even if it is to a level that they did not think pos! What a shame!

The Tax payer paid for my training so now they can live with it!

Please dont beieve that every NRP ' dangles' the PWC as it is very often the other way round!

Sorry Blob, but I didn't say that every NRP dangles the PWC. It happens both ways round. I was merely welcoming Icey to a similar world that I have, and many others have too ... either as a PWC or as a NRP.

What do you mean 'friendly' arrangement?

The wage details were given to the csa by his employer, and that was what they made the assessment on.

In my case, my ex was getting 16 hours a week through the books, and the rest was cash in hand for a 38 hour week.
