I can see your point but my point is that there will be a fair bit of overtime in the next few months coming up.We are currently on a higher rate of overtime pay than what they are proposing to put us on.......so if they do have to give us notice, it's better to earn more sheckles during the notice, than not.
Trouble is they think too many of us in here live in a cave and have a vacuum between the ears ! .........and it's not the case !

Wondering if anyone out there can kindly assist please.

My employer has written (via email) to us stating the payment rate for overtime will change from 1 Sept '09.
In brief it is going to cut Saturdays down from 1.5x to plain rate and
also shaving some of Sunday payments.
Question being is, whilst I realise they can change the guidelines , how much notice, if any, do they have to give ?

I think they are trying to have one over on us earlier then what may be legally(?) expected.

    thanks

Just under a month's notice is actually quite good; what were you expecting?

  • chiefgoobster i have been looking around for clarifiation - Acas might be able to help.

From memory for a change in contract the consultaion period needs to be at least the length of the longest standing employees notice period (if this makes sense) Hence why I had a 3mth consultation period with my team.
My posts are my own personal opinion . I would always recommend seeking professional advice.
